Try Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment (EPAT Chicago)

As residents of Chicago, we are fed up with the winter that has befallen our city.  During our extremely epatlong winter, many of us have experienced some foot problems. Regardless of its cause, pain can take a toll on daily tasks.  In our Chicago office, Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment, or EPAT, is available to help treat pain that impairs mobility stemming from:
  • Muscle
  • Tendon
  • Fascia
EPAT offers Chicago patients a non-invasive procedure to help treat a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. As podiatrists serving the Portage Park and Chicago areas, Dr. Joel Feder and Dr. Marc Feder of Affiliated Podiatrists offer EPAT to help patients find relief from their pain so that they don’t have to slow down. Patients with heel pain or other tendon pain, such as Achilles tendonitis, can benefit from this treatment in Chicago with EPAT.

Understanding the Procedure

EPAT is a non-invasive treatment that delivers unique acoustic pressure waves to the affected areas of the body, which helps to stimulate the body’s own natural repair mechanisms and fast-tracks the healing process. This technology is FDA cleared and is currently used around the globe. It has also been reported that over 80% of patients who have received this procedure, are pain free or have significant pain reduction.

When performing an EPAT treatment (which does not require anesthesia), Dr. Joel Feder or Dr. Marc Feder will apply a gel to the targeted area.  The device applicator is placed in the gel over the sore area.  This applicator delivers pressure waves into the painful area, which stimulates healing of the damaged tissue. Each session typically lasts about 10 minutes, with most patients requiring three sessions performed at weekly intervals.

If you are experiencing heel pain, tendon or muscle pain, visit our office in Chicago for EPAT. With the availability of EPAT, we can help you find relief from your pain so that you can continue your daily tasks.
